Dawow Moms provides Baby Essential Kits to Mindanao Quake Victims

10:19 AM

After the devastating earthquakes that struck Mindanao, which left kids and babies with no clean supplies and food, the Dawow Moms immediately mobilized their mommy volunteers and resources to facilitate a donation drive for the baby essentials and relief goods.

Through the help of moms from all over Davao City, Tagum City and the Island Garden City of Samal, and generous businesses such as NCCC Supermarket and Proter & Gamble, the Dawow Moms team led by Phoebe Gail Montemayor has gathered almost 200 relief goods to the severely damaged communities in Kidapawan City. Each pack contains baby essential kits such as diapers, medicine, water, wipes, and alcohol. They also provided basic needs to the evacuees such as canned goods, tents, rice, flashlights, whistles, blankets, medicine, and drinking water.

On November 4, 2019, Dawow Moms with the help of the Davao Vapors Community mobilized its resources to send relief to the affected residents of Brgy. Meohaw, Magsaysay, Brgy. Mangga, and Poblacion, Kidapawan City and the hardest-hit areas in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.  They have provided food, shelter, water and baby essentials to almost 300 families.

The earthquake in Davao City did not stop them from helping their fellow Mindanaoans. After few days, Dawow Moms gathered another round of relief operations to reach more secluded areas in Kidapawan City. With the help of NCCC Supermarket, Procter & Gamble, Davao Vapors Community, and Dawow Moms' members, more relief goods are delivered to the landslide victims in Brgy. Ilomavis on November 8, 2019. More than 200 families were grateful to receive food, water, shelter, medicines and baby essential kits.

Meanwhile, over 10,000 Mingo Meals which are provided by NVC foundation - Negrense Volunteers for Change was distributed by Dawow Moms to the children in Brgy. Ilomavis, Kidapawan City.

"Mingo is a nutritious instant complementary food made of rice, mongo (mung beans), and malunggay (moringa). NVC serves Mingo Meals to undernourished Filipino children." - NVC Foundation

The Dawow Moms Community really appreciated the help and donations they received from generous people. This just proves that we, Mindanaons, will rise by helping each other up in times of calamity. Faith in humanity is indeed restored! #momshelpingmoms
