Yes, You Can Homeschool!

1:14 PM

We always want what's best for our kids. As for me, I've always wanted to homeschool Jolo. Yet I don't have any idea where to start and whom to reach when I need help. Luckily, this November 19-20, 2016 , Lighthouse Homeschool Network (LHN) - a local organization of more than 30 homeschooling families (with around 100 homeschoolers) in Davao City - and Homeschool Global – a leading homeschooling provider in the country - will be having a free, open-to-the-public 2-day conference about homeschooling in the NCCC Mall Activity Area, Ma-a, Davao City. With the help of Bounty Fresh Chicken, Brainfit Studio, NCCC Mall Davao, Barbra Pearls Cosmetics, Luxe Lab and VitaLab, Yesha Marie Miao & Lebosada Dental Clinic, this event was created to increase awareness of what homeschooling is, plus debunk the popular myths about homeschooling.
This exciting event entitled “Yes, You Can Homeschool!” is composed of three sections:

· The “Kidpreneur” Marketplace – Here, LHN member students will test their business concepts and skills for both days as they sell whatever goods or services they have to offer to the general public. From food to art to household items, they’ve got it.

· The Science Fair – At this science fair, LHN students from different grade levels will display the fruit of their scientific labors in exhibits that answer relevant, interesting problems and questions, all in one friendly competition lasting 2 days.

· The Homeschooling Symposium – On the second and last day of this event, speakers will discuss what homeschooling is, what are the benefits, how it works, and how organizations like LHN can help in anyone’s homeschooling journey. Two notable speakers for the symposium will be -

Edric E. Mendoza, RFP

Edric is an edu-preneur (education entrepreneur). He champions a revolutionary form of education called Homeschooling, running various businesses and organisations around the same. As a Registered Financial Planner (RFP), he also champions personal finance education through keynote messages and the leading personal finance TV show in the Philippines, “On the Money”, which airs daily on the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC). As a result of these education initiatives, he desires to change the world, one family at a time.

Joy Tan-chi Mendoza

Joy is happily married to Edric Mendoza and she is a homeschooling mom to five children. She is an awarded blogger for her site, teachwithjoy.com and an author. Joy is also a speaker for topics on marriage, parenting, and homeschooling. She has been a brand endorser for products that celebrate marriage and family values. Her greatest passion is to live for the glory of Jesus Christ.

I am so excited to learn about homeschooling and also meet other homeschoolers in Davao City. See you there! ❤
